Reading: Last week we started a new novel study relating to their Civil War unit in social studies. Students are either reading the novel Shades of Gray, Red Cap or Little Women depending on their reading level. For this book, they will keep their notes in their novel folder. This week we are focused on dialect and point of view (1st person, 2nd person, 3rd person limited, and 3rd person omniscient). Also, we have passed out the October Book Log. Their class novel can count as one of their two October books if you choose. The Book Log should be signed by a parent, and it, along with the completed book review, are due Tuesday, October 31. It will only be accepted if signed by parent so we can make sure the book was read and finished at home.
